Sept 10th and 11th Peenstra Antique Appraisals held a Traveling Appraiser Show at the Chesapeake Fall Home Expo. Our new friend Penny, who also brought in the John Henry Belter chair, asked us to appraise this 1920’s American ink well. Her husband received the inkwell from his aunt many years ago. She said it was old, and valuable, but that is all the information she had about it. With a magnet we tested it for iron, which it did not have. This means it is solid brass, one of the preferred metals of better craftsmen. Overall the item was in fair to good condition. To learn the appraisal price, watch the full video.
